Welcome to Prog Atlas (prog-atlas.com, “the site”). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

About this site

Prog Atlas is a website about progressive rock, written and run by Marcus Stone, author of the Beyond the Sound book series. It documents bands, albums and scenes, and it points readers to those books, which I wrote and from which I earn royalties. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official source for any band, label or organisation mentioned.

Permitted use

You may browse and enjoy the site for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may share links to its pages freely. You may not, without written permission, copy, republish, scrape, resell or otherwise exploit substantial parts of the site’s content, or use it in any way that is unlawful or that could damage, disable or impair the site.

Site content

Unless stated otherwise, the original content on this site, including the written articles, the site design, the original artwork, and the Beyond the Sound books and their covers, is owned by me or my licensors and is protected by copyright and other rights. Please don’t reproduce it without asking.

Names, trademarks and referenced works

Band names, album titles, song titles, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here only for identification and editorial purposes, as part of writing about the music. Their use does not imply any endorsement or affiliation. The site does not host or reproduce recordings, lyrics or original album artwork; listening links point to external platforms such as YouTube, whose content is their responsibility.

Links to other websites

The site contains links to third-party websites, including streaming platforms, retailers and reference sites. They are provided for convenience, and I have no control over their content, policies or availability. Visiting them is at your own risk, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Affiliate links and my own books

Some outbound links, in particular to books and albums on Amazon, are affiliate links: I may earn a commission on qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. The Beyond the Sound books linked from the site are my own, and I also earn royalties on them. Full details are in the Affiliate Disclosure.

Accuracy and “as is” content

I research carefully and aim to be accurate, but the site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. I do not guarantee that the content is complete, current or error-free, and nothing here is professional, legal or financial advice. If you spot a mistake, I would be glad to hear from you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or any third-party site linked from it. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
