Cookie Policy
What cookies Prog Rock Atlas uses, and how you can control them.
Last updated: 20 June 2026.
This Cookie Policy explains how Prog Rock Atlas (prog-atlas.com) uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember preferences, and to gather information about how a site is used. Similar technologies such as pixels and local storage work in a comparable way; in this policy we refer to all of them as "cookies".
How we use cookies
We use only a small number of cookies, in these categories:
- Strictly necessary cookies. These are required for the site to function properly — for example, to load pages securely or to remember your cookie choices. The site cannot work correctly without them, so they do not require consent.
- Analytics cookies. We use analytics tools such as Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and how visitors move through the site. These set cookies (for example, those beginning with _ga) and help us improve the archive. They are only used with your consent where required.
- Affiliate cookies. Some links on the site — for example to books on Amazon — are affiliate links. When you click one, the affiliate network (such as the Amazon Associates programme) may set a cookie so that any resulting purchase can be attributed to us. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
- Embedded content. Some pages may include content embedded from other sites (for example, a YouTube player). Those services can set their own cookies, over which we have no control; please refer to their own cookie and privacy policies.
Third-party cookies
Several of the cookies above are set by third parties rather than by us directly, including analytics providers (such as Google) and affiliate or media partners (such as Amazon and YouTube). These companies process the resulting data under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.
How to manage or disable cookies
You are in control of cookies. You can accept, refuse or delete them at any time:
- Through our cookie controls. Where a consent banner is shown, you can choose which non-essential cookies to allow and change your choice later.
- Through your browser. Every major browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and others) lets you block or delete cookies in its privacy or settings menu. Note that blocking all cookies may stop parts of this or other websites from working.
- Through opt-out tools. For analytics, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent your data being used by Google Analytics.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above.
